The name of this bird is Hadhad in Arabic but in Urdu it is called Tarkhan bird  and many people also call it Lohar bird. It is a very small bird, slightly heavier than a sparrow, but it likes to live alone.  It is habituated.  Her young are also protected from the falcon that eats the birds. From her neck to the middle of the wings of her body, there is a yellow or golden color.  It is a very intelligent bird. It does not fly very high in the air. It keeps flying down even from high trees.  Or they are of three colors and look like a bow, i.e. tourist color, white color, golden color, three big striped backs  It has a short, long beak, but it is very sharp. Most people do not eat the meat of this bird. Some Muslims believe that it is not a halal bird.  The little bird seems to be a forgetful bird, but in the Qur'an it is mentioned as a very wise bird.

Hoopoe  and its mention in the Qur'an

Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) was a great prophet of the Bani Israel. But the ruler was very strange that he knew the language of every bird and answered them in the same language. He was also familiar with the language of the giants. Before, Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) was an unmarried prophet. His throne was about five miles long and wide. On this throne were all these birds and beasts who were with him in the form of his subjects. Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) used to provide food and drink himself, but water management was not on his throne. He had the duty to place his beak on the ground and listen to the sound of water flowing underground. Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) used to inform that water flowed a little deep under the ground at such and such a place Then Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) would order the jinn and human group from among the Companions of the Throne to dig that part of the earth and draw water. Charand humans, animals and jinn drink water and bathe and wash clothes

Takht Sulaiman (peace be upon him).

It is a matter of great surprise that such a huge and heavy throne would be given a specific wind by the command of Allah and would lift this throne from the ground and bring it to a great height in the sky and then it would fly towards its destination. All the birds of the throne used to travel and the caravans would ride on it, traveling through the sky and the earth, then wherever Allah would order, then the throne would descend comfortably on the ground, then all the caravans would spread out on the ground, carry out business, bring fruits and play. Thus, the story of the royal life of Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) is recorded in the Qur'an

The descent of Takht Sulaiman (peace be upon him) to the region of Saba in Yemen

It is recorded in Taweel that Takht Sulaiman (peace be upon him) rose to the air from Mount Sulaiman in present day Pakistan and landed in the country of Saba, Yemen. This is a distance of about three and a half thousand miles. The caravan was very thirsty. Hazrat Suleiman (AS) ordered the birds to call Hoopoe to me. I swore now that whenever Hadd came, he did not give any reasonable answer to his absence, I will exterminate the breed of this bird in the world, it is a very disobedient and treacherous bird.

Hoopoe's return and justified his absence to Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him).

The birds captured Hoopoe and brought him to the presence of Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him). Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) asked Hoopoe, what is the problem with you that you were absent, all the caravan was very thirsty but you were not present Hoopoe replied, "I like Hazrat Saba's area very much. I just went for a walk towards the mountains. There was a kingdom ruled by a mighty woman. They used to kill other birds without their native birds. Unfortunately, I fell into their hands." They took me to a strange assembly and there was a quarrel between two groups that whether there were more men or women in the world. Both groups were ready to fight and die. They put the question before me that its reasonable. Find the answer and tell me, then they will set you free, otherwise they will slaughter you and eat you right away. Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) asked, "O foolish bird, how did you calculate this?" They work hard and take care of children and home. There are very few men in the world who are vain men, cowards and free eaters. Al-Salam replied that you have given a very good answer and you are free
